The only requirement is having a good standing membership with BILD-CA.

23. Community Service of the Year
Description

Entrants must have demonstrated qualities of compassion and service to either one organization or a variety of volunteer activities in the one year. Must take place within the current award period. All entry fees will go towards BILDCares.

Entry will be judged by the Executive Committee on the following criteria, with a maximum of 500 words:

  • Need (10 Points): The extent to which the service or action might be considered above and beyond the call of duty.
  • Impact (20 Points): The degree to which their services/actions have made a lasting or meaningful contribution or impact.
  • Inspiration (20 Points): The extent to which they inspire others to volunteer or contribute.
  • Commitment (20 Points): The demonstration of current and continuing involvement in community service.

24. Safety Leader of the Year
Description

Entrants must have demonstrated qualities of safety leadership within their business, training of employees and on the job site. All entry fees will go towards the Parkland Safety Committee.

  • Exterior and Interior Design/Functionality (25 Points)
  • Innovative/Special Features (25 Points)
  • Value based on energy savings before renewables per square foot (15 Points)
  • Energy Performance (Maximum of 40 Points)
  • Green Certifications (Maximum of 50 Points)

Requirements:

  • Completed online entry
  • 12 digital images that best represent the project
  • Floor and/or site plan
  • EnerGuide Label
  • Green Certifications (all applicable certifications)
    • LEED, CHBA Net Zero & CHBA Net Zero Ready, Built Green, Energy Star, R2000, Rating 0GJ, Energy Star or Passive House
  • Completed Homeowner Permission Form (for sold homes)
26. Supplier of the Year
Description

Entrants in this category must be entered in at least one (1) category as a lead or project partner with a membership in good standing are eligible for this award. In addition to the submissions, suppliers will need to submit a written entry based on the criteria below.

Entry will be judged on the following criteria, with a maximum of 750 words:

  • Environmental responsibility and leadership in residential construction (10 Points)
  • Industry involvement of the Supplier and support of BILD-CA initiatives (events, committees, and volunteering with BILD or otherwise within industry) (10 Points)
  • Career development within the organization (Education & Training) and mentoring of staff and new professionals (10 Points)
  • Charitable, volunteer, and social contributions to the community (10 Points)
  • Additional innovation within the industry (10 Points)
  • Member Survey will be sent to listed project partners (builders and renovators). Results will be applied to the overall score (Maximum 30 Points)

Requirements:

  • Completed online entry
  • 12 digital images that best represent the entrant based on the judging criteria
27. Trade of the Year
Description

Entrants in this category must be entered in at least one (1) category as a lead or project partner with a membership in good standing are eligible for this award. In addition to the submissions, suppliers will need to submit a written entry based on the criteria below.

Description

Entrants in this category must have at least one (1) entries and won at least one (1) category: 1-10 to be eligible. Members who enter this award must have a renovation business and must be in good standing. In addition to the submissions, Renovators will need to submit a written entry based on the criteria below.

Small Builder is 24 homes built or less in 2024. Entrants in these categories must have at least three (3) entries and won at least one (1) category: 1-7, 11-22 to be eligible. Members who enter this award must have a builder membership and must be in good standing. In addition to the submissions, builders will need to submit a written entry based on the criteria below.
